Dentistry Without Fear

We’re a Judgement-Free Office

One of the biggest reasons most patients don’t visit the dentist is out of fear or anxiety. For some, this is due to a bad past experience, for others it’s a fear of dental treatments, needles or sights and sounds, and for some it is out of embarrassment of their smile. At Irie Dental Associates, we welcome all patients with open arms and work with you to help get you the care you need without the fear or anxiety, often through sedation dentistry in East Orange, NJ. You never have to be embarrassed or worried when you visit us—we never judge or lecture. To help patients get over their anxiety or fears, we offer soothing sedation options to help calm your nerves and block any sensations of discomfort.

Sedation dentistry can help you overcome:

  • Fear or anxiety

Our Sedation Dentistry Options

At Irie Dental Associates, we offer both local anesthetic and nitrous oxide sedation dentistry to help patients stay calm and relaxed during their appointments. Local anesthetic is used to block sensations of pain or discomfort. We gently inject the anesthetic into your gums at the location where treatment will take place. This numbs the mouth so you feel little discomfort. We often combine this with our nitrous oxide sedation for the ultimate in relaxing, comfortable care.

For more advanced procedures, we utilize nitrous oxide, often called laughing gas, to help you relax. Nitrous oxide is an odorless gas that is administered via a mask worn over the nose. The sedation is quick to take effect as soon as it’s applied, putting patients in a calm, sleepy state. You likely won’t even remember much of your procedure while it’s being performed. Once finished and the mask is removed, you’ll quickly come out of the effects and be back to normal. Our team’s calming demeanor will also help you relax so that achieving your dream smile is easier than you ever thought.
